Fans of the hit HBO show “Game of Thrones” couldn’t wait for Sunday’s highly anticipated episode, where a big battle would happen, stars of the show would likely die, and the major storylines for the rest of the series would take shape.
The only problem?
Once the episode began the battle scenes in the Battle of Winterfell were literally so dark that people couldn’t figure out what was going on and who was getting killed.
Some knew beforehand to crank the brightness up on their TVs before the episode started but many did not, or just had older TVs that don’t do a good job with the brightness necessary to see the episode.
People freaked out:

shout out to everyone else learning their tv is trash in real time

No clue what’s happening in Game of Thrones cause it’s too dark. I have adjusted the settings on my TV and it still didn’t help. Guess I will be reading show summaries tomorrow bright and early. 🤦🏻‍♂️ #GoT

It’s kind of hilarious that after I spent the day expecting Twitter to explode with emotion during Game of Thrones, all that’s on my TL, from like 30 different people, is “Why is it so dark?”

The lighting budget for this episode was 8 candles. But on the bright side I found my Tv’s brightness setting #GameOfThrones

So all those millions of dollars in production value must have went to the dragon scenes because damn are the battle scenes dark as hell on #GameOfThrones

Dear people making TV shows,
THE VIEWERS AT HOME WOULD PREFER IF THEY COULD SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING ON SCREEN STOP MAKING EVERYTHING SO DARK.
Sincerely,Everyone watching tonight’s #GameOfThrones #GoT #BattleOfWinterfell

Genuinely have no idea what is going on this episode. Too. Damn. Dark. #GOT #gameofThrones

Worst episode of Game of Thrones ever! Whoever had the bright idea to film in the dark is an asshat. I’ve spent the majority of the episode not seeing anything! Total crap!
